Generally speaking, there are two kinds of degradable plastics in China.

One is not fully degradable plastic. It is generally composed of "PE + starch" or "PE + disintegrator". Many companies sell it. The starch part of the material will decompose quickly after use, but the PE part is difficult to degrade. However, due to the space left in the material after starch decomposition, the degradation of PE can be accelerated to a certain extent. Disintegrating agent can not degrade PE completely, but can break the film into small pieces after use. Therefore, this kind of material can not be called degradation material. According to the provisions of GB / T 20197-2006, it is not listed. The price is generally very cheap, and the difference between the existing PE price should be small.

The other is fully degradable plastic. Generally, it can be divided into polyhydroxy acid and special polydiacid glycol. Polyhydroxy acids include PLA, PHV, PHBV, etc. Poly diacid diols include PBS, PBSA, PBAT, etc. PHBV, PBS, PBSA, PBAT and modified PLA can be directly made into plastic bags. This kind of material is generally more expensive, usually four to sixty thousand tons, domestic consumers are more difficult to accept. In order to reduce the cost, some manufacturers add starch and other substances to this kind of materials, but the performance will be reduced, and the cost reduction is not very obvious.
